About

Open Forum is a new way for you to get involved in local decision making at a time and a place that suits you.

Open Forum is a key council commitment as part of our City for All plan. You can find out more about City for All by visiting the website.

It offers a wider range of opportunities for you to let the council know your views including:

  • Public meetings in different locations across the City of Westminster, with the Leader of the Council and Cabinet members taking part in the discussions.
  • Gathering feedback from community groups so the council does not replicate the good work that is already taking place within the community.
  • Using this website to help us get more timely information out to the community, and provide more opportunities to take part, rather than waiting for the next face-to-face meeting. Our commitment is to ensure that all relevant consultations are put in one place on this website.
  • Sending out regular email updates to all registered Open Forum members. Once you have registered with us we will keep you regularly up-to-date on the full range of Open Forum. activities, including agendas for meetings and about consultations the council is running.
  • Giving you a chance to have discussions with other Open Forum members and discuss issues that matter to you.

You can also contact the Open Forum team direct at any time. Whether you let us know your views face-to-face, online, or by post, all the information will go to the same team and will be sent on to the right teams within the council to deal with it.

Please note that this does not replace the existing contact channels for services, such as our main website or our contact centre, or our complaints process. These should still be contacted direct for the quickest most effective service. For Open Forum we want to hear your views on what it is like to live in the City of Westminster and how we can work together to address any issues. The Open Forum team will help council services understand your views about how services are delivered.

As part of the Open Forum process we will also be able to provide feedback directly to Open Forum registered members and through publications such as local community publications, the Westminster Reporter and Westminster Plus. Overall we hope that not only will the council understand the needs of residents better, but also that those residents taking part in Open Forum will learn more about the role of the council and what we are doing to address the issues that matter.

We want you to have as many opportunities to be involved in issues affecting your local area as possible, whether that is online, face-to-face or by post. The success of Open Forum is dependent on your involvement. We urge you to register to find out more about what it’s all about and to take part.
